About bioMérieux

bioMérieux is a global leader in in vitro diagnostics, specializing in industrial microbiology solutions for the food and pharmaceutical sectors. The site visit offered symposium delegates a first-hand look at the production environment and quality systems underpinning the GENE-UP® platform.

This visit was an optional activity for registered symposium participants. For further information about the scientific program or general inquiries, please see the Program page or visit the Contacts section.

The technical excursion to the bioMérieux production facility offered symposium attendees a rare behind-the-scenes look at how advanced molecular diagnostic solutions are manufactured. During the visit, participants were guided through the production site and introduced to the GENE-UP solution, a platform designed to detect STEC and EHEC pathogens with precision and reliability. This hands-on experience complemented the scientific sessions by connecting laboratory research with real-world industrial application. For many attendees, the tour reinforced the importance of collaboration between researchers and industry partners, highlighting how cutting-edge diagnostic tools are developed, validated, and brought to market to support food safety and public health efforts worldwide.
