The tenth symposium of the VTEC series brought together an international community of scientists, clinicians, and researchers working in the field of veterinary toxicology and related health investigations. Hosted in the beautiful city of Florence, the event represented a unique opportunity for the main community to gather, share findings, and strengthen professional liaisons across borders. The triennial nature of the meeting gave participants ample time to develop meaningful collaborations and grow consortia dedicated to advancing knowledge in this important discipline. From the opening remarks to the final session, the atmosphere was one of collegial exchange and scientific curiosity, reflecting the shared commitment of all attendees to improving animal and human health from a toxicological perspective.
The scientific program featured invited speakers from around the world who presented on a wide range of topics central to the field. Oral presentations were accompanied by PowerPoint slides, with each speaker fully responsible for the content, slide order, graphics, and all visual materials. All presentations and subsequent questions were conducted in English, ensuring clear communication among the diverse international audience. Presenters were expected to include clear objectives and a valid study design in their talks, reinforcing the importance of rigorous methodology in toxicological research. This emphasis on quality and transparency helped maintain the high standard that has come to define the VTEC symposia over the years.
Beyond the formal sessions, the setting of Florence itself added immeasurable value to the overall experience. Participants had the chance to explore a city renowned for its art, history, and architecture, while also enjoying the excellent food and wine that the region is famous for. The unique setting encouraged informal conversations and networking opportunities that often proved just as valuable as the scheduled presentations. These interactions allowed attendees to reinforce existing relationships and forge new ones, laying the groundwork for future collaborative projects. The combination of cutting-edge science and cultural enrichment made the symposium a memorable event for all who participated.
The local organizing committee, working in partnership with the international scientific committee, devoted considerable effort to ensuring the smooth running of every aspect of the congress. From abstract submission and registration to the coordination of venues, hotels, and social events, the attention to detail was evident throughout.
